Island-Hop With Timeshares
What's your favorite island? Is it a quiet Bahaman escape? Perhaps it's
the cultural metropolis of Canada's Vancouver Island? With timeshares,
you don't have to choose just one. Many travelers are wary of purchasing
a timeshare because they don't want to be tied to one specific spot year
after year. It's true that if you've fallen in love with a particular
area, like the islands of Hawaii, a timeshare will bring you back there
year after year. But timeshares have the added benefit of being
extremely flexible. With timeshares, you can explore Spain's Canary
Islands one year and Thailand's exotic Koh Samet Islands the next. There
are timeshares for sale anywhere you can imagine
Go Anywhere
It's simple: the nature of timeshares dictates that they should be
extremely flexible, as when you buy timeshare you're really purchasing an increment
of time every year or every other year. There are a couple of ways you
can use a timeshare to explore the world's many islands. You should
select which method works best for you and your vacation lifestyle.
Trade Your Home Resort
The first and most traditional method is to purchase a timeshare in your favorite vacation destination. This will ensure that you'll be
able to return again and again. However, to use this property to travel
the world you'll want to be sure that your property is affiliated with
an expansive exchange company like RCI (Resort Condominiums
International) or II (Interval International). These companies allow you
to trade your week at your "home resort" for a week anywhere within
their network. Once you've traveled to the destination of your choice,
as many times as you'd like, you can rest assured that your home resort
will be ready and eagerly awaiting your return.
Or Buy a Vacation Club
The above method works well for vacationers who have a favorite locale
that they'll want to return to again and again. But for the traveler who
is more interested in seeing every corner of the globe, vacation clubs
might make a better choice. Vacation clubs work much like traditional timeshare sales in that they allow buyers to
purchase an increment of time every year. But they differ in that with a
vacation club you wont be assigned to any particular resort. Rather
you'll generally be allotted a certain number of points with which you
can "purchase" time at any resort within the network. With vacation
clubs, owners can travel anywhere within the network year after year
without having to worry about trading their week in.
Both methods have their benefits and it's up to the individual buyer to
determine which fits most comfortably with his or her vacation
lifestyle. In any case, it's plain to see that timeshares can open up a world of vacation
possibilities to any and every island-hopper out there.
